Nafs Project

Spiritual and personal wellbeing through Ilm al-Nafs, the Islamic psychology of the self.

The Nafs Project supports spiritual and personal wellbeing through Islamic psychology. It brings the knowledge of Ilm al-Nafs to a global audience, examining thought, emotion, behavior, relationships and inner development within an Islamic framework.

Its aim is to bridge authentic Islamic teaching with psychological understanding: helping people understand themselves, navigate difficulty, strengthen their relationship with Allah, and build healthier and more balanced lives. Where the other programs address what a household needs to survive, this one addresses what a person needs to be well.

The work covers the human mind, emotions, behavior, character, self-development and personal wellbeing from an Islamic perspective, and is published so that it is accessible, practical and relevant rather than purely academic.

It has reached an audience of more than 55,000 followers across social media platforms through Islamic educational content and awareness work.

What is Ilm al-Nafs?

The Islamic psychology of the self: the study of thought, emotion, behavior, character and inner development within an Islamic framework.

Who is it for?

Anyone trying to understand themselves better, navigate difficulty, or strengthen their relationship with Allah. The material is published to be practical and relevant rather than purely academic.

How many people does it reach?

More than 55,000 followers across social media platforms.

Why fund this alongside water and healthcare?

Because material need is not the only kind. The other programs address what a household needs to survive; this one addresses what a person needs to be well.
